[CONCEPT] Garabonciás (2025 - Designer, Writer, Artist)

"Garabonciás" is an in-progress project for a video game set in 1921 Hungary. The art style incorporates the Art Deco advertising movement within the country, while incorporating folk art into the UI and character design. The narrative is a murder mystery that intertwines the everyday people with the supernatural, where the real mystery is about the guilt and what-ifs of grief. The protagonist, Tóbiás, is a garabonciás or "Wandering Scholar". It highlights where the narrative of a garabonciás may have come from, which is a wizard who learned his powers through study, controls the weather, rides on a dragon, and asks folks for sweet milk. He arrives back in his hometown only to be caught up in a murder of his childhood friend, and all the townsfolk blame him for ever coming back.

He must figure out who done it and all the towns secrets by understanding the beliefs each individual holds. Varying information will be given to him depending on how he completes or performs tasks. If done the way someone wants, they'll try to tell the truth. But if not, they can lie or spread rumors.

[ONGOING!] Gold Horse (2025- Designer, Writer, Artist, Coder)

Gold Horse is a multi-media project that was created in the summer of 2025, and is still currently ongoing. The narrative is hosted on a website, which is text-based, as story images still need to be added in. The website’s story is still ongoing, but it is able to be read in any order, as it is a hypertext piece where some of the narrative cannot be found without reading and clicking through the initial story. I coded and illustrated borders for the entire website.

This is one of my lighter projects, where its purpose is to illustrate a world through a character’s story. It has two sides of a story, told through the characters Elio and Ábel. Most entries in it right now are written through Ábel’s perspective, narrating him as a character but also the events important to his life. There are writings regarding his culture’s new year celebration and a law he created. Ábel’s writing is more about the world surrounding him and the affairs of others, while Elio’s about his emotions at each moment.

The story follows two characters and the growth of their friendship. A king named Ábel that descended from dragons, embarrassed by his combination of man and beast. A wandering mercenary named Elio, who feels so disconnected to people that he wants to be a horse. The two maintain an odd relationship over the years, with bickering and opposing opinions. Yet find comfort in the selfish acts each perform to secretly take care of one another.

First Stop: Pettsburgh (2022- Artist, Concepter) - Simcoach Games

First Stop is a mobile game designed to empower individuals of all abilities to learn essential bus-riding skills in a fun and engaging way. It is released on the Apple and Google Play store and developed in 2022 at Simcoach Games alongside a team of interns. All backgrounds and UI were concepted and developed by me, except for the postcards at the end of the game (not pictured). This was created as a game for impact, which could be used in therapeutic practices with neurodivergent individuals.

Albatross (2025- Designer, Writer, Artist, Coder)

Albatross is a short hypertext diary art piece. It tells about identity in connection to facts about the albatross. The facts for the albatross are read when hovering over the letters that spell out "ALBATROSS", while clicking on the letters gives a story of myself that reminds me of this albatross fact. It is meant to be a simple project.

San Roque, California (2023- Designer, Writer, Artist, Coder)

"San Roque, California" follows the story of Tumbleweed, a dog man, looking for his best friend, Biscuit. The format is reminiscent of a comic, but interpreted in hypertext literature format, utilizing HTML, CSS, and Javascript. The plot of San Roque, California is to process the journey of grief and every bitter, ugly feeling that will come along with it. Tumbleweed has searched long and far for Biscuit, and his journeys lead him to the town of San Roque, where you can enter the different stores and meet the townsfolk. The initial purpose was to convey emotion through positioning, font-size, and color. It was developed as my capstone project for the Digital Narrative and Interactive Design senior semester. Though it was made in 2023, the initial concept was created as a short comic in the summer of 2022, after my best friend had died in her sleep. The plot of San Roque, California is to process the journey of grief and every bitter, ugly feeling that will come along with it. The works spans across 93 HTML pages with over 200 drawings in it.
